MEET THE BAND
CW2 Franklin Montenegro
Chief Montenegro was born and raised in Santo Domingo, Ecuador before moving to Manchester, NH. Chief Montenegro has been the commander of the 39th Army Band from December 2020 to Present. He also works as the Internal Review Chief of the New Hampshire Army National Guard. Chief plays Electric Guitar in the Rock Band and enjoys playing tennis and spending time with family on trips.
1SG Greggory Chapman
1SG Gregg Chapman, a Euphonium player, and vocalist in our Rockband. Born and raised in Laconia NH, and raised in Gilford NH. Before joining the 39th Army Band he attended Gilford High School, where he spent most of his time playing baseball and enjoying the lake life with friends. He now resides in Manchester, NH with his wife and 3 children. He joined the NHARNG in January 2007 and currently has 15 years of service. During these years he has served multiple assignments throughout the NHARNG including Joint Force Headquarters for New Hampshire, Operational Support and Airlift Detachment 18, 197th Fires Brigade, and the Joint Special Operations Task Force - Afghanistan. SFC Chapman has been on two deployments (Operation New Dawn in Kuwait and Operation Resolute Support in Afghanistan). He enjoys making sure the people he works with are taken care of. He enjoys Formula 1, baseball, gaming, and spending time with his wife and beautiful children.
SFC William McCarthy
SFC McCarthy works as our full-time readiness NCO. SFC William McCarthy had previously spent time with C Co. assisting the Infantry Company with Soldier Readiness.
SFC David Selmer
SFC Selmer is our primary drummer for Rock Band, a Platoon Leader, and a finance genius. SFC Selmer received his Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance from the University of New Hampshire and now works for finance in Boston. In his spare time, SFC Selmer enjoys spending time with his wife.
